Poland Reopens Auschwitz Probes

Poland announced, on Thursday, that it has reopened investigations into crimes committed at the Auschwitz death camp during World War II in order to prosecute the perpetrators while they are alive, according to Reuters.

Postwar probes were discontinued in 1980 because the communist government did not have the resources to search for witnesses and suspects who were no longer in Poland.
