Renewed Civilian Road Patrols in Kiryat Arba

Following the recent rise in terror on the roads of Judea and Samaria, the citizens of the Judean Jewish community of Kiryat Arba have decided to renew civilian patrols of area roads. Interviewed by Arutz Sheva's Hebrew service, Rabbi Shimon Ben-Zion, who is organizing the effort, said that Israeli troops cannot be everywhere and there's no deterrence because they free terrorists and don't punish the villages they come from.

Rabbi Ben-Zion called on other communities to set up similar patrol programs, noting that the principal dangers are rock throwing and auto accidents caused by reckless Arab drivers. He said local incidents are not noticed in other parts of the country, but if they happened in Ramat Aviv, the problems would be addressed.
