3,000 at Givat Assaf to Pray Against Demolition Threat

About 3,000 people from around the country came to the Binyamin-region Jewish community of Giv'at Assaf, Thursday evening, to pray against the threat of the government undertaking demolitions at the community. The threat evolves from a Supreme Court ruling that has been hovering over the region for a few months and has become imminent since the end of the Sukkot holiday.

A number of leading rabbis took part, including Dov Lior of Kiryat Arba. Givat Assaf Spokesman Benny Gal said, "Our call is twofold: to the  public to come and prevent this immoral destruction and secondly, to call to soldiers and police to disobery an order and not to lend a hand and participate in this this criminal deed, which is covered in legal guise."
