Senior Doctors Threaten to Quit

About 40 senior doctors threatened to quit, Tuesday, if an agreement is not reached to raise the salaries of interns and young specialists. Most of the doctors are from hospitals in the central part of the country. Some of them manage hospital wards.

Some very senior specialists signed letters of resignation, Monday, at Tel Aviv's Ichilov Hospital. They included Professor Joseph Lessing, manager of the Lis Maternity Hospital and Professor Zvi Ram, director of the neurosurgergy department at Ichilov.
