Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest to moderate gains at the beginning of trading on Tuesday. The TA composite index was up .64 percent at 1,022.77, just under the TA 100, which opened at 1038.16, up .65 percent. The Maof 25 most-capitalized stocks checked in at 1,144.55, up .32 percent.
Leading the gainers were the technology stocks, up 1.38 percent at 273.72, including the biomed issues, which opened at 748.34, up .97 percent. The insurance index was up one percent at 1,177.57, while the bank stocks were down .41 percent at 1,053.22.
