Ayalon: We'll Reach Out to All Who Are For Democracy

Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon expressed hope, Sunday, that the elections in Tunisia would be free, open and fair, stressing that "Israel is ready to extend the hand of peace to every new government that believes in the values of democracy, freedom and equality." His words were part of an address at the Germany-Israel gathering in Frankfurt.

Among those in attendance were hundreds of Kurdish exiles, who expressed their support for Israel and Ayalon's message. Referring to the release of Gilad Shalit, Musab Hassan Yusuf, the son of a Hamas commander known as "the green prince," told the deputy foreign minister, "I envy your people, who dedicate their lives and are willing to free 1,027 murderers for one soldier."
