Moderate to sharp gains were reported on most of the indices of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange on Sunday. The TA composite index rose 1.39 percent to 1,017.01, slightly below the TA 100, which closed at 1,032.61, up 1.43 percent, including a 1.83 percent rise to 1,143.14 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the way were the biomed issues, which rose 3.77 percent to 738.82 while the other technology stocks slipped .01 percent to 268.95. Bank stocks closed at 1070.54, up 3.51 percent but insurance companies fell 2.11 percent to 1,182.26. The media and communications stocks jumped 3.28 percent to 872.37 and the oil and natural gas stocks finished the first day of the trading week at 1,106.27, up 3.16 percent.
