PM: Glad to See Gilad Shalit Return to Routine

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said, Wednesday, "I was happy to see Gilad [Shalit] walking with his mother outside their home." His comments about the soldier, just released from more than five years of terrorist captivity, came during a meeting with Foreign Minister MaríÁngela Holguín Cuéllar of Colombia.

During the meeting, Netanyahu told his guest about his meeting with Shalit, following Shalit's release on Tuesday, and noted the similarities between Gilad's ordeal and that of Colombian presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt Pelucio, who was held by Colombian terrorists for six-and-a-half years before being rescued by Colombian security forces, along with 11 police and security officers and three Americans.
