Sources at the United Nations believe the Security Council on the Palestinian Authority's bid for statehood will take place on November 11th. The appraisal came following a meeting of representatives of a council subcommittee.
The PA lacks the nine votes needed for the council to recommend full-member status to the U.N. General Assembly. Even with a majority, the bid faces a veto from the United States which, like Israel, belives that PA statehood should be achieved through negotiations.
