UN: Terrorists’ Release Violated their Rights

UN officials expressed concern Tuesday over the mass release of terrorist killers in exchange for Gilad Shalit. The murderers’ rights may have been violated due to the fact that they were not released to the locations of their choice, claimed the office of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay.

If prisoners have been forced to go to Gaza rather than Judea and Samaria “without the free and informed consent of the concerned individuals, this may constitute forced transfer or deportation under international law,” say Pillay’s staff.

Many of the prisoners had been sentenced to life in jail, and instead were released after serving just a few years.
