Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Az-Zahar said, Tuesday morning, that soldier Gilad Shalit has been transferred to Egypt.

Az-Zahar's statement is the latest in a series of conflicting reports about Shalit, who was abducted by Hamas and its allies from the Kerem Shalom base next to Gaza in June 2006.
