The Eretz Yisrael Shelanu movement said on Monday that while it welcomes the return of Gilad Shalit, it condemns the release of terrorists in exchange for his return.
“Despite the great joy of the coming home of Gilad Shalit and of his rescue from Hamas captivity, it is a black and dark day for the people of Israel due to the mass release of the greatest killers of the Israeli people,” the movement said in a statement.
The movement added that the Shalit deal poses “terrible dangers for the future; it is clear that hundreds of Jews, G-d forbid, could pay with their lives because of this deal.”
“We will not be a part of the media festival taking place these days,” the statement read. “Israel will soon find the meaning of this terrible deal. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who has betrayed his past values, will pay the price big time. On this day we embrace the bereaved families, whose loved ones were murdered twice.”
