State to Court: Deal a "Clear Political Decision"

State attorneys called on the Supreme Court, Monday, to reject petitions of bereaved families against the deal to free 1,027 security prisoners, about half of whom have been convicted of murder, for the release of abducted soldier Gilad Shalit.

The attorneys wrote to the court that it was a clear political decision, approved by the cabinet. In the past, such a definition was cited by the court as a reason for it not to get involved.
