Shalit Family Asks Court Not to Interfere

The family of abducted soldier Gilad Shalit asked the Supreme Court, Sunday, not to delay or get involved in any of the components of the release of 1,027 security prisoners in exchange for Gilad's freedom in a way that could blow the deal. In a statement accompanying their response to High Court petitions against the exchange, the family said, "This does not mean, in any way, that the Shalit family does not identify with the pain of the families whose sons and daughters suffered from terrorism, or that it does not respect their case."

A three-justice panel is scheduled to hear the petitions, Monday afternoon.
