Soldier Petition Protests Prisoner Release

Soldiers in regular and reserve service who have risked their lives to arrest terror murderers are circulating a petition protesting the proposed release of 1,027 security prisoners in exchange for abducted Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, including 450 murderers. They say the exchange throws away years of work, the risk of life and in some cases, the actual loss of life.

Signers of the petition say they will think twice in the future of taking the risk to arrest terrorists who will be released anyway. The petition concludes, "We, the undersigned, demand that the State of Israel not release murderers who we will have to deal with later in our service."
