    Renewed Cholera Scare in Haiti

The number of cholera cases in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, has jumped by a factor of three in recent weeks, according to Doctors Without Borders. The raise began as the second rainy season hit the region, aiding the waterborne disease’s spread.

Numbers of sufferers remain below the numbers seen in an initial outbreak last November. Currently doctors said they are treating around 850 people per week, compared to 4,600 per week at the peak of the disease’s spread.
