The Professors for a Strong Israel organization on Monday slammed residents in Israeli hospitals who quit their jobs en masse. In a letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, the group wrote that many doctors earned excellent incomes, which was why the medical schools had long lines of people waiting to get in.
“The comments and attitude of the residents make them as bad as the most greedy members of society,” the letter said. “They disdain the rule of law and disrespect a contract signed by their leaders. They didn't bother fighting for what they want inside their union, instead demanding their own deal from the government, at the expense of the public. We call on the Prime Minister and Finance Minister not to submit to their demands, and to observe proper procedure and let anyone who wants to quit to leave their jobs.”
