An Israeli delegation arrived in Egypt on Sunday for a new round of talks with Egyptian officials regarding last month's attacks on the Israeli embassy and diplomatic developments on the Israel-Palestinian Authority front, according to the semi-official Cairo daily Al-Ahram. The release of American-Israel Ilan Grapel could make its way to the angenda.
The September 9th mass protests ended in chaos after demonstrators headed to the Israeli embassy, brought down a wall in front of the building and broke into one of the embassy’s offices. Three people were killed as clashes with Egyptian forces continued and the ambassador flew home. The ambassador returned to Egypt after tensions cooled down, and talks between both countries have been underway since shortly after the clashes.
