Huge Tent City for Yom Kippur at Cave of the Patriarchs

A huge tent city has been erected in the plaza next to the Me'arat Hamachpelah Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron for the Yom Kippur observances which begin Friday afternoon. The tents have been equipped with cots, as well as tables and chairs for the final meal before the 25-hour fast.

For the first time, all of the Me'arat Hamachpelah building will be available to Jewish worshippers for the holy day, including the Yitzchak hall, which has been off limits to Jews most of the time since the murder of Arab worshippers there in 1994.
