      Police Preparedness for Yom Kippur

Thousands of police officers and volunteers will deploy at synagogues and other places where people are scheduled to gather Friday evening as the Jewish world ushers in Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar. Thousands are expected to attend observances at the Western Wall of the Temple in Jerusalem.

The fast starts at 16:41 in the capital. The Sabbath of Sabbaths - one of its many names - runs until 17:53 Saturday evening.
