The official value of the shekel rose an average of .336 percent, Thursday, in mixed trading against most of the currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.725, down .241 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Australian dollar rose .713 percent to 3.6038 shekels, and the Canadian dollar was set at NIS 3.5648, up .462 percent.
The Euro fell .649 percent to 4,9434 shekels, while the pount sterling was fixed at 5.7017, down 1.129 percent. Hardest hit was the Swiss frank, which fell 1.334 percent to NIS 4.0024. The Swedish krona was set at .54 shekels, down 1.008 percent.
