More than 10,000 people accompanied Rabbi Hanan Porat to his final resting place on Wednesday morning. Rabbi Porat died Tuesday of illness at the age of 68.

Among those who attended the funeral were the chief Rabbis of Israel, and several ministers and Members of Knesset.

Speaker of Knesset Reuven Rivlin eulogized Rabbi Porat as “a teacher and rabbi, visionary and activist, poet and warrior.” Few people are both visionaries and achievers, poets and politicians, “but you, Hanan, you knew well how to do it.”
