French Citizen Caught Smuggling Etrogs into the Country

It was announced, on Monday, that a citizen of France was arrested at Ben Gurion airport after arriving on a flight from Paris on Sunday, when he tried to bring two suitcases full of etrogim (citrons) into Israel without declaring them.

The man said he planned to sell the 228 etrogim at a fair of products for the upcoming Sukkot holiday. The fruit, weighing a total of 58 kilograms/128 pounds, was confiscated and turned over to the Agriculture Ministry.
