The TA composite index was down .71 percent at 933.73, slightly better than the TA 100 index, which stood at 946.60, down .76 percent around 10:00 a.m. The Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues were down .89 percent at 1,044.77.
The oil and gas stocks, which rose on Sunday, were down .39 percent at 937.63 and the insurance issues, which also rose on Sunday, stood at 1,046.40, down .86 percent. The biomed stocks rose .15 percent to 660.43.
