      Litzman: We'll Draft Doctors Licensed Abroad


      Deputy Health Minister Ya'akov Litzman said, Monday morning, that his office was considering extraordinary measures to deal with the possibility that medical residents will resign en masse in protest of the recent contract signed between the government and the Israel Medical Federation. The National Labor Court will rule, Monday evening, on a petition by the government to declare the resignations illegal, if the two sides cannot come to an agreement beforehand.

      Interviewed by Israel Defense Forces Radio, Litzman said, "It's possible that doctors who were licensed abroad but were not licensed in Israel will be introduced into the job market." He added that the ministry has given some doctors the possibility of three more years before retiring.
