The government petitioned the National Labor Court on Sunday in an attempt to order medical interns to return to work, claiming that the latest round of resignations is illegal. The state is demanding that the doctors work periods up to two months to keep the public health system from crashing.

In its petition, the government claims that the resignations are collective, even if they have been presented individually.
