Most of the indices at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted moderate to sharp losses in mixed trading on Sunday. The TA composite index declined 1.45 percent to 940.39. Worst hit were the bank stocks, which fell 3.04 percent to 975.60, followed by the media and communications issues, which closed at 772.44, down 2.64 percent. The Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues slumped 2.19 percent to 1,054.20 as the TA 100 finished the first day of the trading week at 953.87, down 1.64 percent. Biomed stocks declined 1.29 percent to 659.46 while the other technology issues closed at 254.97, down 1.85 percent.
The lone bright spots were the oil and natural gas stocks, which rose 2.3 percent to 941.26, and the insurance companies, which closed at 1,055.46, up 1.71 percent.
