Over 700 Arrested in Wall Street Protest

Over 700 people were arrested Saturday as a large group swarmed across the Brooklyn Bridge, blocking traffic for about an hour, in another protest against “Wall Street bankers.” The group, called Occupy Wall Street, has been camped out for nearly 2 weeks in lower Manhattan. The march began Saturday afternoon, with police warning them to stay on the pedestrian walkaway – warnings that police say were largely ignored.

Earlier Saturday, several thousand protesters participated in several other peaceful marches in lower Manhattan. Protests also took place in several other cities, including Boston and Los Angeles, in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street.
