Israelis to Celebrate with 2,000 Tons of Honey

Israelis will consume an estimated 2,000 tons of honey during the Jewish holidays of the month of Tishrei, which begin Wednesday night with Rosh Hashanah. Honey use in Tishrei accounts for more than half of Israel’s annual honey purchases, industry experts told IDF radio.

Wednesday is expected to bring booming business to cell phone companies as well. Based on past experience, Israelis are expected to send roughly 150 million SMS messages as the New Year approaches.
