Fischer: Trajtenberg to Bring Significant Change

Prof. Stanley Fischer,  Governor of the Bank of Israel, stated Tuesday that he welcomes the submission of the Trajtenberg Committee's recommendations to the government. The Governor complimented the committee for dealing with a wide range of issues and problems in many sectors and in "submitting conclusions that are expected to bring significant change to the economic agenda in Israel in the coming years."

The Governor added that the committee "succeeded in bringing significant recommendations while maintaining the fiscal framework laid out by the government, a framework which is crucial to the credibility of macroeconomic policy and to the financial stability of Israel's economy, especially at the sensitive time we are currently in."
