Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al-Muallem said, Monday evening, that the Syrian people will act firmly to thwart any effort by foreign concerns to undermine stability in the country. Addressing the United Nations General Assembly, Al-Muallem called "on all the countries who launched the campaign against Syria to reconsider their positions."

The speech followed claims by Syria that it found Israeli weapons in Homs.
