New Infant Care for Silwan Arabs

The Municipality of Jerusalem opened an infant care center for Arabs in the Shiloach (Silwan in Arabic) neighborhood of Jerusalem, Sunday, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. The center is the 30th of its kind in Jerusalem and the first to open under Mayor Nir Barkat’s administration as part of his strategy to close gaps in Arab neighborhoods throughout Jerusalem in the areas of education, infrastructure, community services, culture, permitting process, and welfare services, according to a statement from the municipality.

The center is intended to provide free services to families from doctors, nurses, and social workers including tests and lessons on health, safety, and nutrition.
