Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted sharp losses on Thursday. The TA composite index closed at 919.11, down 4.15 percent. Worst hit were the media and communications issues, which plunged 4.68 percent to 770.79. Banks fell 4.55 percent to 973.86 as the financial institutions finished the day at 891.27, down 4.04 percent. The Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues closed at 1,038.91, down 4.32 percent, slightly worse than the overall TA 100, which declined 4.29 percent to 933.43.
With the biomed index closing at 641.19, down 3.38 percent, the technology stocks fell 3.94 percent to 244.41. Oil and gas issues finished the day at 841.41, down 3.7 percent and the real estate index fell 3.46 percent to 251.65
