Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman downplayed the threat to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s coalition Wednesday, after he was quoted as saying that the coalition would fall apart if Netanyahu does not punish the Palestinian Authority for seeking UN recognition instead of negotiating with Israel.
Lieberman confirmed that he believes Israel should take “serious” steps in response to the PA’s move, but said, “It’s a long way from that to the dissolution of the coalition.”
