Livni: The Government's Test is in the Implementation

Opposition Leader Tzipi Livni welcomed Monday's report by the committee on competition in the marketplace by saying, "The reduction of economic centralization and separation of real financial assets are necessary and important actions." She said limits should also be placed on what she called excessive executive pay, adding that at the same time, the government should maintain its sense of proportion and continue to encourage the business sector, industry and entrepreneurship, and open the branches under the holding-companies to competition to benefit the middle class."

The Kadima party chairwoman concluded, "The government's test is not the committees, but in application of the recommendations and its ability to faithfully represent the needs of Israel's middle class."
