PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas spoke on Sunday night with the family of former Egyptian ambassador to Israel, Mohammad Basyouni, who passed away after an illness, the PA-based WAFA news agency reported.
During the conversation, Abbas offered his condolences over Basyouni’s death and said: “Ambassador Basyouni served the Palestinian issue and especially the efforts to establish a state within the 1967 borders [1949 Armistice Lines –ed.].”
