Women and children who lost their homes due to the recent round of demolitions in the Binyamin-region Jewish community of Migron demonstrated, Sunday evening, at a pre-New Year's toast given by Likud Knesset members Silvan Shalom, Ayoub Kara, Yariv Levin and Yossi Peled for their activists. The demonstrators carried a sign which read, "The policemen of [Prime Minister Binyamin] Netanyahu destroyed our home. Will you stand idly by?" and handed out New Year cards featuring a picture of the destruction and a wish for a year "in which the leaders will discover responsibility, lead with justice and take steps for the truth and our country."
The Binyamin and Samaria (Shomron) Residents Councils said the action was not intended to single out any specific public figure but to make sure that all Knesset members take a clear stance against the destruction of homes, with the understanding that said destruction contradicts the platform on which the party was elected.
