The Tel Aviv District Court on Sunday canceled a restraining order agains demolition of the tent city on Rothschild Boulevard in Tel Aviv. The court gave squatters in the tent city three days to clear out, before they are forcibly removed by the city and police.
The court said it was giving the squatters three days' grace in order to ensure an orderly departure with no violence. Residents complained to the court that the squatters had created a public nuisance, created a great deal of trash, and negatively impacted the quality of life in the area. Squatters told the court that they had nowhere to go, and that they would remain at the site until the government arranges alternative accommodations for them.
