Simchon Slams Preliminary Trachtenberg Findings

Although they have not been officially published, Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Shalom Simchon criticized the preliminary results of the report of the Trachtenberg Committee on lowering the cost of living for Israelis. A report on Israel Radio quoted that Simchon as saying that the recommendations to expand public education to three year olds did not deal with the essence of the problem, which is the high cost of raising children.

The committee's final report is due in about 2 weeks.
