Minister of Science and Technology Rabbi Prof. Daniel Hershkowitz held an information campaign in Germany this week in preparation for the Palestinian Authority’s unilateral statehood bid at the UN.
During the visit, Hershkowitz attended a conference in Munich which dealt with the issue of peace, where he debated the PA’s Religious Affairs Minister, Mahmoud Al-Habash in a panel entitled "Is peace possible?"
Hershkowitz said during the panel that the Jewish religion seeks peace but that “unfortunately, the Palestinians have rejected time and time again our extended hand and instead of talking to us directly they’d rather go to the UN. Former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon uprooted flourishing communities, leaving the Palestinians with the Gaza Strip, and in response we got more than 8,000 rockets.”
