Nasser's Oldest Son Dies

Khaled Gamal Abdel Nasser, the oldest son of former Egyptian president Gamal Abdul Nasser, died in a Cairo hospital on Thursday at the age of 62, after 16 days in a coma, according to the semi-official Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram. His funeral is scheduled after Friday prayers at the mosque where his father is buried.

The younger Nasser was accused in 1988 to being part of a secret organization that violently opposed the Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty. His sister Mona made headlines recently because of revelations about her husband Ashraf Marwan, an agent of Israel's Mossad intelligence agency in the 1970s who warned Israel of a coordinated Egyptian-Syrian attack on the morning of Yom Kippur 1973.
