Schneller: Opposition Should Support PM at UN

Member of Knesset Otniel Schneller (Kadima) said, Thursday, that the entire public and all the political parties, including members of the opposition, should support Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, next week, when he goes to the United Nations to address the Palestinian Authority's unilateral bid for recognition as an independent state. Schneller called the address, "a chance to present the world with the Jewish and Zionist values of the only democracy in the Middle East, always longing for peace without waiving its values and honor."

Speaking at a Kadima policy meeting, Member of Knesset Avi Dichter said "Israel's response must be wise and not only just." The former head of the Shabak Israel Security Agency said the government must be decisive and if it cannot prevent the PA's bid, it should not think in terms of "punishing" the PA, adding, "A Palestinian state is an Israeli national interest no less than a Palestinian one."
