Gafni to Trajtenberg: Affordable Housing First

Chairman Moshe Gafni of the Knesset Finance Committee said, Wednesday, that the shortage of affordable housing should be the highest priority of the Trajtenberg Committee on socioeconomic reform, which must propose significant concrete solutions. Following a meeting with Committee Chairman Manuel Trajtenberg, Rabbi Gafni said that if those solutions are not forthcoming, the crisis will get worse, as will the protests that led to the formation of the committee.

The United Torah Judaism lawmaker said income tax must be lowered dramatically and competition in the marketplace must be promoted. He added that the general public had a role to play, explaining that if it does not buy expensive items, their price will come down.
