Head of the Defense-Political Staff in the Defense Ministry, Gen. (res.) Amos Gilad says that Israel has overcome suicide bombers due to cooperation with the PA, who oppose terror and fight Hamas.
Gilad opposes considering Jordan the Palestinian state, saying the PA would never accept it.
According to Gilad, the cold, problematic peace with Egypt is preferable to altering relations with them.
Gilad says the greatest regional threat is Iran, whose leader is determined to develop nuclear weapons.
On the crisis with Turkey, Gilad said that Israel must exercise caution and prepare for the worst.
Gilad spoke at the closing session of the 11th Anti-Terror Policy Institute conference on the influence of global terror that took place at the Herzliya interdisciplinary center.
