Saudis Threaten US Over PA Bid Veto

Saudi Arabia said Monday that if the United States vetoes the Palestinian Authority's bid to seek recognition for an Arab state in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem at the UN later this month, it will become a “disgusting entity” in the eyes of the Arab world. In an op-ed piece in the New York Times, Turki al-Feisal, Saudi Arabia's former ambassador to the U.S., wrote that a veto would prevent Riyadh “from cooperating with the U.S. as it did in the past.”

He added that a decline of American influence in the region would strengthen Iran, and weaken Israel.
