Report: Iran Offers EU New Nuke Talks

Iran has informed the European Union that it is ready to resume talks on its nuclear development program, according to a Monday morning report by Kol Yisrael government radio. The Tehran government's chief negotiator sent a letter to that effect to EU foreign-policy chief Catherine Ashton a few days ago.

The last round of talks failed at the beginning of 2011 because of the Islamic Republic's insistence on being allowed to continue to enrich uranium. Israel and a number of Western countries believe that Iran is developing atomic weapons, despite Tehran's claims to the contrary.
