Following Sunday's sharp losses, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Monday morning trading with modest to moderate declines. The TA composite index was down .78 percent.
The insurance index was down 1.25 percent at 941.75, a day after it was announced that four companies were fined for various infractions. The financial index, including the banking sector - which was the hardest hit on Sunday - were both down 1.14 percent. The oil and gas index was down 1.28 percent and the media/communications index was down 1.19 percent. Partner, which announced post-holiday layoffs, was down 2.22 percent.
