Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange suffered sharp losses on Sunday. The TA composite index fell 3.48 percent to 909.37, paralleling the TA 100, while the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues closed at 1,024.93, down 3.56 percent.
Worst hit were the banking stocks, which declined 5.19 percent to 963.51 as part of a 4.62 percent drop by the financial institutions index to 877.21. The oil and natural gas index finished the first trading day of the week at 915.06, down 4.88 percent. The biomed stocks lost 3.44 percent, closing at 642.56 while the rest of the technology stocks closed at 240.65, down 3.32 percent.
