Turkey's Jewish community is doing “alright” despite the breakdown in relations between Turkey and Israel, says Avraham Lago, speaking to Arutz Sheva. Lago heads Arkadash, an organization for Turkish-born Israelis.

There are roughly 20,000 Jews in Turkey, he said, most of them living in Istanbul and working in law, accounting or business. While the breakdown in ties is emotionally difficult for Turkey's Jews, he said, “the relations between citizens 'on the street' is good.”

Turkey's Jews remain strongly connected to tradition, he said, and assimilation is rare.
