A poll conducted on behalf of Mastercard said that 50% of Israelis did not go on vacation o this past summer. Out of the half that did take a vacation, 17% chose to go abroad, while 33% took a vacation in Israel. The poll was taken by the TNS organization of a scientific sample of all Israelis who hold credit cards.

Sixty one percent of those who went abroad stayed in a city, visiting museums, theaters, and shopping districts. Of the Israelis that vacationed domestically, more than half spent most of their days off on the beach or near a pool.
